Note: We do not recommend using a deep socket to install the Mechanical Seal as the seal is very sensitive to contaminants, some of which may be inside the socket. Additionally, most sockets have an inside chamfer which does not allow direct pressure to be properly applied to the sheet metal seal housing during installation.
